A machine that simplifies log cabin construction by scanning logs, planning their use, and preparing them for precise assembly. It speeds up the process, reduces manual work, and allows you to see the finished cabin in 3D before building begins

  • 1. Preparation of incoming logs (e.g. tagging, debarking)
  • 2. Laser scanning of logs to create a digital library
  • 3. Designing the log cabin using that library – manually or automated
  • 4. Fully automated log cutting with a CNC milling machine
  • 5. Delivery to the building site and on-site assembly of the cabin

process

This process combines traditional craftsmanship with modern precision. Each log is prepared and scanned with high accuracy — down to a tenth of a millimeter — capturing its exact shape and dimensions. These scans form a digital library used to design log-based structures, such as cabins and other custom builds. The design proces — manual or automated algorithms — ensures optimal use of each log based on real geometry. A custom CNC milling machine then cuts each log automatically for a perfect fit, and the finished parts are delivered for quick, precise assembly on-site. While the system supports many applications, it is specifically tailored for efficient, high-quality log cabin construction. We are also developing a mobile solution to run the entire process directly at the building site.

precision

The digital process offers key advantages over traditional chainsaw-based construction. Most importantly, the entire project can be planned in advance down to the millimetre. Even highly individual cabins built from irregular, non-uniform logs can be fully designed and reviewed before a single cut is made. This level of planning drastically reduces surprises on-site and improves communication with clients. In addition, CNC milling makes it possible to include fine details directly in the logs—such as recesses for power sockets, cable ducts, or pipe channels—saving time during assembly and improving the overall finish and functionality of the final structure.
